Last night, I saw a commercial for Cialis (a erectile dysfunction drug). At the end of the ad, when they talk about the side effects, they said, “If you start experiencing vision loss, contact your doctor immediately”.  Hmmm, I guess sex really can make you go blind.

No More War

Today, United For Peace is marching on Washington D.C. to protest the war in Iraq.  Please send them good thoughts and hope that their message gets across.  They aren't sending that message to the President (I'm assuming they think that's a lost cause), but rather to the newly elected Congress.  I hope Democrats and Republicans alike will finally step up to the plate and quite supporting this misguided war, will push for our troops to be brought home, and will not back the President on Iran.  It's time to end the damage that this administration has done and Congress and the Senate need to end it now.  It's time to seperate the men and women from the boys and girls - I, for one, will be watching carefully so that come November 2008, the person that I cast my vote for will be the person who has stood up and shown some courage and has shown that they will do the right things in all areas.  I'm done voting for the lesser of 2 evils - from now I'll vote for the best person, even if that means writing in my choice.

There are  two couples making the entertainment news that I just don’t understand – Katie Holmes and Posh Spice and Jessica Simpson and John Mayer.   My first reaction to both was "What the hell?"

Ok, ok, you can quite leaving me messages now.  I'm back.  I'm going to put the lack of postings over the last month to one part bacterial virus and one part sheer laziness.  It started to look like winter around here which means the sun disappeared and took my energy (what little there was in the first place) with it.  I don't do well with the gloom at all.  My sister said I should start hitting a tanning bed so that I get some light. I think the cons of tanning outweigh the light factor, myself.  So I made a reservation to go visit my Mom in 'Bama next month instead.  I'll try to post more, I promise.

Have you checked out the Oscar noms?   I can't believe how few of the movies I've actually seen.  The Devil Wears Prada, to be exact. Although, I've got Little Miss Sunshine at home and plan on watching it tonight during what's his name's little speech to the nation.  I really want to see The Queen and a few others, though.  I love Helen Mirren in just about anything.  I loved the book Notes on a Scandal so I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.  Otherwise, I'm kind of feeling indifferent toward the nominees this year.

One last thing for today. Check out one of my favorite web sites, Head Butler.  Interesting reviews of books, music, and movies.
