Hope you all have a great holiday weekend. I'm headed up north tomorrow to hang with the family and attend my grandma's 95 birthday luncheon. Yep, 95. Rock on, Grams!  The weather is going to be perfect here in Michigan and hopefully where you are as well, so it'll be nice to get outside and BBQ and all that stuff. So, have fun and stay safe!

Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling have been found GUILTY.  Hot damn! Now let's sentence them to life and make them give all their money to the employees they screwed over.

I heard this on the radio this morning and I'm still laughing, "Axl Rose and Tommy Hillfiger got into a fight at a Manhatten bar over the weekend. Luckily 1986 was nearby and broke it up."  Ain't that the truth.

Check out Google - loving the graphic in honor of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birthday.

If you've ever thought that being the kid of a celebrity was a cushy deal than Brittney Spears' poor little guy is going to change that thinking - if his mother doesn't accidently kill him first.  There was the driving with him in her lap incident, the high chair breaking/dropping him on his head incident, the I don't know how to install a car seat incident, and now we have the I can't walk and almost drop him incident.  Maybe you should use 2 hands, Britt, and leave the highballs at home.

Last night at book club (we discussed Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go which was a very interesting book), Leigh said she had heard that they were making a movie out of the book Fast Food Nation.  We all said the same thing "How do you make a movie out of that book?" It's about the fast food industry and non-fiction.  Not that you can't make a movie out of a non-fiction book but if you read this one, it just seems like it wouldn't really be doable.  Apparently, you cast Patricia Arquette (she is physic after all), Ethan Hawke (Sarah, are you excited?), and Bobby Canavale (go rent The Station Agent) and you got yourself a movie.  I'm very interested to see how this one turns out.

Melanie sent me an article from The Washington Post.  This is the first paragraph "New federal guidelines ask all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves -- and to be treated by the health care system -- as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon." What the Fuck!  Will there be new federal guidelines for men who are pre-getting women pregnant? Can't wait to see those. Ha.

Ironic website address of the day:  http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/expectmore/.

Did you make a phone call today? Well, if you used AT&T/SBC, BellSouth, or Verizon, the government is analyzing that call and any others you make to see if there is a pattern to your calls. But, hey, don't worry it's not like they were listening or anything - they're only putting the info into a big National Security Administration database. Now don't you feel better?

As if  8 years of pure hell aren't enough we may get this.

Hello everyone. Today the big news is that Britney Spears has announced she's pregnant again.  My question is, Will she be able to hold 2 babies in her lap as she tries to flee the paparazzi?  In other news the rest of the world  finds Tom Cruise as crazy as we do.  Mission Impossible III is not doing as well at the box office as anticipated and with The Da Vinci Code opening this weekend I doubt it's going to do any better.  I can't decide if I want to see The Da Vinci Code.  Although the premise was interesting, the book was poorly written and I can't decide about the movie. I think the previews look good. If anyone sees it, let me know what you think.

On the homefront - I had to wear the heart monitor last week for 24 hours and the results show that my heart regularly beats extra beats. Don't know what that means but the doctor said it's not worrisome.  I had an EKG on Monday and don't know the results yet.  Otherwise, haven't passed out and I feel fine.  I dropped my cardio class, though, and am doing other less intense exercise.  Tonight I start my golf lessons but it's supposed to rain later today so that may or may not happen.
