Cindy Sheehan, the mother of the soldier killed in Iraq who was protesting outside the shrub's ranch in Texas, was arrested for demonstrating without a license in Washington D.C. MSNBC has a story about it. What's really bizarre is this quote from a woman whose husband was killed in Iraq.  “I would like to say to Cindy Sheehan and her supporters, ‘Don’t be a group of unthinking lemmings.’ It’s not pretty,” said Mitzy Kenny of Ridgeley, W.Va., whose husband died in Iraq last year. The anti-war demonstrations “can affect the war in a really negative way. It gives the enemy hope.”  What the hell? Cindy Sheehan is standing up and protesting against a war which means that she has not bought into the whole shrub brainwashing about the war and is therefore thinking for herself.  Secondly, "anti-war demonstration 'can affect the war in a really negative way. It gives the enemy hope'" Are you kidding me? Affect it in a negative way how - by ending it.  In case you haven't noticed Mitzi, you unthinking lemming, it ain't going very well. Our inept buffoon of a leader is what's giving the enemy hope.  BTW, my friend Mary was driving through West Virginia and stopped at a rest area - when she came out somebody had ripped her anti-war bumpersticker off her car. Mitzi is from W.VA. Coincidence, I think not.

First let me say that my thoughts are with all the people in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi who are trying to get through the aftermath of Katrina.

Secondly, let me say  - can the President and his family be any more insensitive to the plight of those who have been affected by Katrina.  Such as the comment from Barbara Bush that basically said "poor people at a relocation center in Houston were faring better than before Hurricane Katrina struck."  The White House, when asked to comment, said  it was a "personal observation" on the part of Mrs. Bush. Um, ok. It is unbelievable to me how detached the Bush Family is - they don't seem to be able, on a whole, to sympathize, empathize,  or show any compassion.  Go back to your ivory tower and shut up.
