I'll tell you all about my sister's wedding soon - when I get enough time to sit and write for awhile. Not that I have a huge amount of things to say about it but I've got a few pictures and getting them up takes some time. In the meantime check out this article from the Manchester, England newspaper, The Guardian. Two women came to visit Detroit and I think, truly captured what I love about Detroit and why I love it. Next time, ladies, make sure and stop by the Main Branch of the Detroit Public Library (across from the DIA). I promise it's worth the visit.
Also, check out this short video, 405 the movie. Way too cool!

I can't hear you. Oy, where's my ear?

Ok, so you all know that the Bruce Willis thing is over but now I’ve totally lost my mind and have moved on to being obsessed with Tom Cruise. Actually, I’m already over it (but not until after watching Mission Impossible I & II, which I loved. Can’t wait for III, which will have, besides Mr. Cruise, of course, Scarlett Johansen. Love her!) After reading the interview with Tom in Rolling Stone – I’ve gone from big crush to creeped out. The scientology thing that Tom is in to is way to strange for me. It seems almost Stepford like. They have some weird beliefs, like not believing in psychiatrists or psychiatric drugs. What? I’m sorry, but I know people benefit from both of those things. If it’s not for you, fine, but as something you preach to people? Apparently it’s supposed to be a simple mind over matter thing - kind of a think your self well. Yeah? Tell that to someone who is hearing more than one voice. Or Tom could tell that to his friend Russell Crowe (see what Russell's been doing lately here– who needs some anger management therapy, at the very least. Call us here at the Library, Russell and we’ll hook you up with some help. When was the last time you even thought about biting someone’s ear off. Yeah, me neither.

Not a whole lot going on. You may have noticed by my reading list that I've been reading like a fiend, which means that very little knitting has been happening. I've got to get cracking. Cathy's baby Cole's sweater is finished but I've yet to put it together and the sweater for Paige's baby is this close to being done and the good thing about that one is that I only have to stitch the sleeves together. So, I have no excuses other than I've just felt like reading - which really isn't a bad thing now is it.
Paige, my niece Anna, and I are going to Lansing next week to check out the new ThreadBear FiberArts store which is something like 6000 suare feet of yarny goodness. Grow, stash, Grow!

Kris' big wedding day is this Saturday and after all the little headaches, it looks like things are coming together nicely. Now if only the predicted rain (it's an outdoor affair) would go away and come again another day. Like several weeks from now so we can have something of a summer. Speaking of rain, my friend Jane and her family are in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina this week and hopefully won't be needing that hurricane insurance. Yikes, last week wouldn't have been good.

I've watched a couple of movies over the weekend - The Whole Ten Yards with Bruce Willis. I liked The Whole Nine Yards and thought I'd give this a shot. Yeah, gotta say the Bruce crush is over. I think it might been the bunny slippers but with this movie it could been any number of things. I also watched Minority Report. I really liked this movie and I learned a couple of things - I don't like Colin Farrell and Tom Cruise ain't that bad. Goodbye Bruce, Helloooo Tom.
